Several years ago,John Figarellifound that little was being done to recognize and remember the efforts that so many have made promoting heath and fitness to the American public. The National Fitness Hall of Fame (NFHOF) was founded on December 2nd, 2004 to provide a both physical and virtual place, where the lifelong efforts of individuals and organizations are acknowledged and showcased.
Mission: To educate, motivate and inspire individuals to “Get Fit & Stay Healthy” through the practice of regular exercise and healthy lifestyle practices by providing contests, events, publications and activities that encourage them to do so.

The National Fitness Hall of Fame:
NFHOF - “The Hall” recognizes individuals for their career work in the field of fitness and health. Induction into the National Fitness Hall of Fame is the highest honor a person working in the fitness industry can achieve. The Hall also presents other special awards of merit for working professional.

NFHOF Membership: The backbone of our organization is our members. NFHOF Members receive several gifts along with many other benefits and can participate in several NFHOF contests which Educate * Motivate * Inspire.”
NATIONAL FITNESS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CRITERIA
Any Member of the National Fitness Hall of Fame can be nominated for induction consideration if they meet the minimum criteria listed below.
* Current Member status of the National Fitness Hall of Fame.
* 30+ years of service in the health & fitness industry.
* A genuine concern for the heath & welfare of others.
* An extensive and diverse work experience in fitness.
* A nationally recognized "Body of Work."
* Reached the age of 60 before the induction date.
(The minimum age was raised to 60 y/o in 2018. Inductees under 60 by 2017 are grandfathered into "The Hall.")
David Lyons and his wife Kendra are the founders of MS Fitness Challenge. (A 501C3 - nonoprofit) The mission of the MS Fitness Challenge (MSFC) to provide certified fitness professionals to people with MS nationwide in an effort to educate and train them in the benefits of exercise and nutrition in winning the battle against Multiple Sclerosis.
